I’m proud to present the first in my series of woodland felt ornament patterns – the flying owl ornaments! This ornament pattern will come to you as a PDF file download via personal email link. Each PDF hand sewing pattern includes the step by step tutorial with detailed pictures. For those f you with personal cutting machines I’ve included a handy SVG file for uploading. This pattern is perfect for creating hanging ornaments or garlands for any season. The flying owl ornaments can make for a perfect felt Christmas ornament, or garland to hang over the mantel. Recommended Supplies: 3 colors of wool felt 4-5 mm doll eyes embroidery thread needle and thread The color combinations are endless! Woodland earthy colors make for barn owl inspired decor, or go with winter grays, white and blues for a perfect snowy owl! If you’ve got a creative side bright fantasy colors would make for beautiful owl decor for any holiday or occasion. Each ornament is designed to be completely hand sewn with slight embroidered details. This is an easy to intermediate project. Each owl will take approximately 1.5 to 3 hours to complete. Crafting Fun for All Ages: Whether you’re crafting with kids or enjoying some solo creative time, this project is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. No sewing machine required! Basic hand-sewing skills are all you need. Sewing skill level: This is a beginner/intermediate hand sewing pattern. The pattern is perfect for beginner adult sewers or experienced children. I always recommend a parent nearby for any children learning with these projects. Small children should be supervised  with sewing tools such as sharp needles, and small pieces such as doll eyes, buttons, and very small pieces of felt. This is also a beginners’ level introduction to simple embroidery on small toys.   Sewing time: As a beginner, 2-3 hours to hand sew a owl ornament.
