Aksharabhyasam Puja Kit, also known as Vidyarambham, is a Hindu ritual marking a child’s formal initiation into education. The term comes from Sanskrit: “Akshara” means letters or alphabets, and “Abhyasam” means practice. This sacred ceremony is traditionally performed for children aged 2.5 to 5 years, symbolizing the start of their learning journey. The ritual is deeply rooted in the belief that education is a divine pursuit, and it is essential to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati (the goddess of learning and wisdom) and Lord Ganesha (the remover of obstacles) before beginning formal education.
